My Mama Loves of March

March has been a great month for me as a shiny new mummy, although I'm still woken up at some ungodly hours during the night and waddle off to the kitchen to fetch a bottle, I'm even grateful for feeling tired, because it's in aid of something so worth while!
So with my sunshiney attitude in place, here's what I've liked and loved about this month....
🖤My first Mother's Day
You may have read my previous post on this which was an appreciation of all mum's of all types, shapes and sizes, and it's really true that this is the first time I've truly considered what this day means and how special it is - how special mums are!
I had a lovely lunch with Lochy and my mum at her house (cooked by Lochy's daddy). Decorative bird houses and hyacinths in teacups were exchanged and it was lovely!

🖤Spring is springing!!
Hurray! Who doesn't like spring? Lighter evenings, there's a field full of gorgeous lambs up the road (who doesn't love a baby lamb!!!) the birds are singing and (sometimes) the sun is shining!! I'm hoping to start riding my lovely horse again and make the most of the forest in the weeks to come (which will mean I get a bit fitter hopefully!)
🖤Lochy has gained weight.
After a rough couple of first weeks involving a tongue tie, and a nearly 2 week stay in hospital (Mama was very bored!) he'd dropped to 5lb 11 from his original birth weight of 6lb 7 (nearly 14%!) The health visitor came last week and he weighed in at a whopping 7lb 15! (I'm still amazed that newborns come out that size and bigger when he's already six weeks old! Ouch....)
This does also mean that he's growing out of his 'tiny baby' outfits, which although counts as an exciting milestone, also makes me a bit sad!! Nonetheless I'm thrilled that he's on the up and healthy! He's really strong too, and can already hold his head up!
🖤Waffle.
Not the sweet kind, nor the potato variety. This ones a monster. Although a small pleasure his arrival really made me smile!
Waffle was handmade by the awesome Made by Maike (check her out on Etsy!) I wanted a special companion for Lochy and had fallen in love with Pudding - but assuming that a pink tutu might not be appreciated by a little boy later on (although he may grow up to be very much into ballet for all I know) I asked Maike to make a customised version and she kindly obliged. She liked him so much she's featured him on her shop as a permanent fixture! Although there's part of me who selfishly would have liked him to stay unique, it's lovely to think lots of other boys and girls may get enjoyment out of him too!

And there we have it - although there's been a lot more I've liked about March, these are some of the highlights! Here's to April; the money of fools and showers, I wonder what adventures it will bring....
